You and your friends are college football fans and follow the Big 10 teams. You want to create a Web query to display the teams, number of wins and losses, and other statistics during the current season. Start a new workbook, and save it as e09b2big10_LastnameFirstname. Rename Sheet1 Import, and create a Web query to the applicable Big 10 Conference statistics from www.ncaafootball.com. The title and headings may split over several cells. Rename Sheet2 Final, and use the CONCATENATE function to create the full title from the separated title on the Import worksheet. Use cell reference echoes to the Conference and Overall values from the Import worksheet to the Final worksheet. Type appropriate, easy-to-understand column labels in the Final worksheet. For example, leave W in the Import worksheet but type Win in the Final Worksheet. PF is Points Scored, and PA is Points Allowed. Notice that the Home column data, such as 4-0, imports as dates, such as Apr-00 and 1-Mar. Create a custom number format in the Number tab in the Format Cells dialog box, entering m-d as the type. Merge titles over columns, and format the column labels. Delete Sheet3. Create a footer with your name on the left side, the sheet name code in the center, and the file name code on the right side of each worksheet. Save and close the workbook, and submit based on your instructor’s directions.
