No personal information was collected either in written notes or on the audio recordings. The participants’ were asked to take part in individual 45-minute semi-structured interviews discussing their attitudes concerning this topic. The interviews were provided paying attention to gender and family type.
  • Results: It was found out that the majority of overweight cases are caused by improper eating habits. At this point, it was revealed that the most effective strategies to prevent this problem are a timely collaboration with parents as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. In addition, some interviewees pointed out that overweight was caused by low self-conception and stress.
  • Conclusion: The research confirmed the initial hypothesis.

Relevance to Clinical Practice

The relevance of this project cannot be overestimated as overweight education is crucial for nurses to provide appropriate health care delivery for these adolescents.
