Background STM is a local movie theater house in St. Louis. The theater has several screens in the theater. It schedules movies for each screen for the following week. The movies that are scheduled include new releases from the large movie studios, such as Disney and Warner Brothers. They also show classic movies and movies that target niche audiences. As another example, on weekends they often have children’s movies during the day The multiple screens in the theater have different capacities. This allows scheduling movies with smaller audiences in smaller theater spaces. As an example, a children’s movie on the weekend would be scheduled in a large theater space, while the same movie on a weekday evening would be scheduled in a small theater. In each day, there are multiple time slots. The time slots are usually spaced out every 3 hours. This allows showing the movie in its entirety, with sufficient commercials, and cleaning the theater once guests have left. For example, in each day, each theater space may have movies scheduled at 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, etc. Another aspect of the theater spaces is that theaters vary on several dimensions. Some theaters have luxury, reclining, seats or heated seats. Database Details of the database are described below. The information stored in the database is the following. Movies Movies data in the database includes information about movies. This includes the name of the movie, studio that produced the movie, genre, rating, release date, run time, director, and budget. Movies (Movie, Studio, Genre, Rating, ReleaseDate, RunTime, Director, Budget) Actors Information about the actors that star in each movie is also included. Together with the actor’s name, the database includes the actor’s salary, and number of minutes they appear in the movie. Movie is a foreign key for the actors database. Actors (Movie, Actor, Minutes, Salary) Screens There are several screens in the theater. For each of these theater spaces, we know the number of seats, the number of handicap seats in the theater, the number of rows of seats, and whether the seats are luxury, reclining seats. Screens (ScreenID, Capacity, HandicapSeats, NumRows, Luxury, …) Movie Schedule Movies are scheduled for the different theaters. They are scheduled for all 7 days of the week. When a movie is scheduled in a theater space, it takes up that time slot for the 3 hour duration. Each movie may be shown more than once during the week. However, in each time slot, in each theater, only one movie can be shown. The movie schedule data has a multi-attribute key of ScreenID and DateTime. Movie name is a foreign key. Schedules (Date Time, screenID, movie-name.) The E/R diagram for this database is below: actors Movie VARCHAR(95) Actor VARCHAR(45) Minutes INT Salary DOUBLE dexes PRIMARY fk_actor_has_movie movies Movie VAROLAR (95) Studio VARCHAR(45) Gerve VARCHAR(45) Rating VARCHAR(45) ReleaseDate DATETIME RunTime INT Director TEXT Budget DOUBLE IMDB Rating DOUBLE IMDB Reviews DOUBLE Index PRIMARY schedule ScreenID VAROR (45) DateTime DATETIME Day VARCHAR(45) Movie VARCHAR(95) Index PRIMARY fk schedule_has_screen fk schedule_has_movie screens ScreenID VARCHAR(45) Capacity INT Handicap as I Num Rows INT Luxury VARCHAR(45) Indexes PRIMARY Movies (Movie, Studio, Genre, Rating, Release Date, RunTime, Director, Budget, IMDBR ating, IMDBReviews) Actors (Movie Actor, Minutes, Salary) Screens (ScreenID Capacity, HandicapSeats, NumRows, Luxury) Schedules (ScreenID, Date Time, Date, Movie) Each of these questions is 10 points. Submit answers to these online on Canvas, by 6 am the day of the lab. They are automatically graded. 1) For each movie list the genre, release date, run time, and budget. Include relevant attributes for each result, to explain that the result is correct. Do NOT include many unnecessary attributes. The writer did not follow my choice of topic (Food/Water Insecurity, Hunger, & Poverty), the paper was instead written about Climate Change in Africa. However, the paper was still great and informative. Thank you!
